Presentation of the Social Welfare Index 2026

The presentation of the Social Well-being Index 2026, which we will be presenting for the second time, shows how much time a person needs to work to purchase a basket of 40 goods and services for the countries included in this year’s Index. Welfare is defined by the balance of time and resources: on one hand, what must be spent on material needs for living, and on the other, what remains for family, rest, travel, hobbies, and self-realization outside of work.
